Manufacturing Evolution: China vs USA

Manufacturing industries came into being with the occurrence of technological and socio-economic transformations in the Western countries in the 18th-19th century. This was widely known as the industrial revolution. It began in England and replaced the labor intensive textile production with mechanization and use of fuels.

In today's economic climate China has become the leading manufacturing source to the industrial world including material handling products.  It is a fact that we must come to accept and adjust accordingly.

There are many real and perceived advantages/disadvantages.  One that comes to mind is the lack of availability of replacement parts for servicing a piece of equipment be it from a warranty claim or not.  Today's society isn't as much into "fix the existing equipment" as "replace the piece of equipment" as a whole!  This again is an example of the evolution of manufactured items.
